Inspiration can sometimes strike from the most mundane things and activities. Other times it needs a push. With today’s article we wanted to share some (but not all) of our favourite lyric videos; 8 of them to be precise. Whether you’re an artist looking to spark some creativity or just someone who likes to look at pretty things, we got you covered!
Sometimes a simple approach yields awesome results! In a few of their new lyric videos, BMTH present their tracks in a manner reminding of karaoke songs from the 80s. With all the glitches and faded colors. Very cool!
Speaking of lyric videos that draw their inspiration from a different time, this video of Celldweller is definitely made for old-school video game fans. The labyrinth coupled with the super popular (and present in a lot of superhero and action movies) color scheme blue and orange, makes this video incredibly entertaining!
Neon and futuristic are two key words for this video from Kobra and the Lotus. One thing that stood out to us was the amazing transition between visuals created fully digitally, the band performing, and the lyrics. Definitely not an easy task but delivered masterfully!
Fans of Kamelot can easily recognize not only the band’s songs but also imagery due to its unique and cohesive illustrative and futuristic style. So what happens when you apply said style in motion and create a lyric video out of it? Magic! We truly love the video below:
Another more minimalistic but incredibly effective lyric video is the one below from Lord of the Lost. The song in itself is amazing and this video shows that you really don’t need much to emphasize a beautiful concept.
Wait didn’t you already have a BMTH video above? Yes we did, but we had to share this one as well because this is one trippy ride! While the other one embraced a simple approach, this one is anything but.. check it out!
This video by Stone Sour not only combines two songs into one, but also has carefully picked imagery to match the lyrics! The grimy and bleak atmosphere complements the song very nicely and creates an eerie lyric video.
The newest Skillet video deserves to be mentioned in here as well, as it features a different approach: a mix between live footage, lyrics and singing footage with kickass transitions and a great color scheme!
What do you think, what’s your favourite lyric video? Let us know in the comments, we’d love to see some more! Also, If you’re in a band and want a lyric video of your own, we’ve made quite a few which you can check out from here
