Inspiration can sometimes strike from the most mundane things and activities. Other times it needs a push. With today’s article we wanted to share some (but not all) of our favourite lyric videos; 8 of them to be precise. Whether you’re an artist looking to spark some creativity or just someone who likes to look at pretty things, we got you covered!
The play with light, images and soft tones gives this video the artistic and calming touch it needs to go with the atmospheric post-rock of OH Hiroshima. Very simple yet stylish!
Going further down the line of very creative videos: for this Cellar Darling song, original drawings were created in a graphic novel style to help tell the story of the song “Pain”. Which resulted in a very pretty thing to watch.
In this lyric video for The Offering‘s “Failure (S.O.S)” they went another way. They created one detailed piece of artwork that they end up spinning around and approaching from all possible different angles. Giving it the dynamics that this song needs with all its tempo changes…
Striking images depicting what Eluveitie sees as the negative results of certain worship in our society make up most of this interesting video. Besides a zombified vocalist screaming at the screen. Or how to bring across a powerful message.
The more futuristic approach of this video works perfectly for the proggy music from Teramaze. Go check out the amazing 3D animations created for this little masterpiece.
Bright colored street images matching with some of the lyrics, excerpts of the band playing live and neonlight texts all add to the fun that is Skindred and we’re hearing them loud and clear:
Doom and gloom is what October Tide stands for. And the lyric video for “Our Famine” brings this sense across really well with the background of grey colored winter landscapes, rainy forests and remote nature.
To end this list on a positive note, back to the classic “live video excerpts” video that tries to show the viewer how much energy a rock band like Tyler Brant & The Shakedown has. A simple yet effective approach that will get you to want to go rock out with these dudes.
